PRP for Recurrent Implantation Failure

PRP for Recurrent Implantation Failure

While experimental, intra-uterine infusions of PRP has shown promise in improving the pregnancy

rate in those patients who have had repeated failed embryo transfers, endometrial thickness in

those with a thin endometrium and on going pregnancy rates in those patients with repeated early

pregnancy miscarriages.

Platelets are a component of blood which play an important role in natural healing containing many

growth factors that improve blood supply and new growth of cells at the site of injury. Using a TGA

approved system the patients blood is processed to isolate a high concentration of these platelets

which are then infused into the endometrial cavity a few days before embryo transfer. Often this

treatment is supplemented with a weekly subcutaneous injection of growth factors.

If your clinical situation indicates it Dr Turner will discuss the above experimental treatment option

with you.
