Telehealth Meetings

What is a Telehealth Consultation?

You no longer need to visit the clinic for some appointments such as some medical advice, assessments or for follow-up appointments. Our practice are happy to provide appointments over video conference where appropriate.

For some patients where Telehealth is available and appropriate you can have your appointment from the comfort of your own home. This maybe:

  • More Convenient,
  • Less Stressful,
  • Efficient and Time Saving, and
  • Safer in a Covid world,

With telehealth you can talk with your doctor whenever you need to, no matter where you are. Of course, some conditions will still be better treated in person – the practice will let you know if this is the case.

Eligibility for a Telehealth Consult

Telehealth is a Medicare initiative that allows doctors and patients to communicate remotely using online tools like your PC and Skype or sometimes just a mobile phone.

Eligibility for Telehealth terms have changed.

  • For GPS - you must now have seen any GP from our practice in the last 12 months, or
  • Infants under 12 months old,
  • People experiencing homelessness,
  • People residing COVID Lockdown Restrictions.

To claim Medicare rebates, you have to be eligible for telehealth. Your eligibility could be checked by going on to http://www.doctorconnect.gov.au/. Payment would be collected prior to your scheduled telehealth appointment.
